1.0.1 These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you and The Grassroots Initiative Ltd, governing your access to and use of our website, mobile applications, online games, competitions, services, and any related content or materials (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing, browsing, registering with, or otherwise using the Services, you irrevocably agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms in full, you must immediately discontinue all use of the Services.
1.1 Eligibility & Use
1.1.1 You must be at least 18 years of age and a legal resident of the United Kingdom to participate in any competitions, games, or prize-related activities.
1.1.2 You warrant that all registration information you provide is truthful, accurate, and complete, and you agree to maintain and promptly update such information. You are solely responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and all activities conducted under your account.
1.2 Fair Play & Integrity
1.2.1 Any attempts to defraud, manipulate outcomes, circumvent rules, operate multiple accounts, or otherwise gain an unfair advantage will result in immediate suspension or permanent banning.
1.2.2 We reserve the right to investigate suspected breaches, request proof of identity, withhold prizes, and take legal action where necessary.
1.3 Data Use & Public Leaderboards
1.3.1 By using the Services, you consent to the collection, processing, and public display of your username, supported club, points, rankings, badge progress, and achievements on leaderboards, profile pages, winners lists, and promotional materials on our website and official marketing channels, including social media.
1.4 Intellectual Property
1.4.1 All trademarks, service marks, logos, graphics, designs, text, and other materials within the Services are owned or licensed by The Grassroots Initiative Ltd and protected by intellectual property laws.
1.4.2 You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit any content without our prior written consent.
1.5 Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
1.5.1 The Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
1.5.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services.
1.6 Indemnity
1.6.1 You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless The Grassroots Initiative Ltd, its directors, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or misuse of the Services.
1.7 Force Majeure
1.7.1 We will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, cyberattacks, or legal/regulatory changes.
1.8 Governing Law
1.8.1 These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
1.9 Acceptance of Updates
1.9.1 We may update or amend these Terms at any time. Changes take effect upon posting. Your continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
1.10 Payments & Payment Processing
1.10.1 All payments made through the Services—including subscriptions, donations & sponsorship fees are securely processed by Stripe Payments UK Ltd (“Stripe”).
1.10.2 By making any payment, you agree to Stripe’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, and you authorise Stripe to process and store your payment details in accordance with their policies.
1.10.3 We do not store your full payment card details on our systems. All payment information is encrypted and handled solely by Stripe.
1.10.4 In the event of a payment dispute, we may request supporting documentation and liaise with Stripe to investigate and resolve the matter. Our decision will be final once Stripe confirms the outcome of its investigation.
2.0 Footy9 Terms & Conditions
2.0.1 Footy9 is a free-to-play, skill-based football game operated by The Grassroots Initiative Ltd. These Terms govern your participation in Footy9 in addition to the General Terms.
2.1 Eligibility & Registration
2.1.1 You must be aged 18 or over, be a UK resident, and have a valid Footy9 account to participate.
2.1.2 Employees, contractors, and their immediate family members are prohibited from participation to prevent conflicts of interest or unfair advantage.
2.2 Game Overview
2.2.1 Players select nine football teams from eligible fixtures each gameweek to accumulate points.
2.2.2 Only one entry per player per gameweek is allowed. Multiple accounts or attempts to bypass entry restrictions will result in disqualification.
2.3 Results & Leaderboards
2.3.1 Results are determined using tie-break criteria such as points earned, goal difference, goals scored, away wins, nearest-to-total-goals across leagues, and other published factors.
2.3.2 Prizes or accolades may be split if ties remain after all tie-breakers are applied.
2.3.3 By participating, you consent to public display of your username, supported club, statistics, badge progress, and rankings.
2.4 Fair Play
2.4.1 Any breach of fair play—including manipulation of results, collusion, automated entry, multiple accounts, or exploitation of system vulnerabilities—will result in sanctions, including disqualification, forfeiture of prizes, suspension, or permanent termination of the account.
2.4.2 We reserve the right to void results, rescind prizes, and amend leaderboards retroactively if evidence of cheating, misconduct, or rule breaches comes to light after results have been published.
2.4.3 Our decision on any matter relating to Fair Play, eligibility, or results is final and binding.
2.5 Acceptance of Terms
2.5.1 By registering for Footy9, you confirm that you understand and agree to these Terms.
2.6 Prizes & Jackpot
2.6.1 The Footy9 weekly jackpot prize fund shall have a guaranteed minimum value of £100 (one hundred pounds sterling).
2.6.2 The jackpot prize fund is calculated each calendar month by taking 50% of Footy9 subscription income received for that month and dividing it equally by the number of gameweeks scheduled in that month. If the calculated amount is less than £100 for any gameweek, the guaranteed minimum of £100 shall apply. Footy9 reserve the right to change the Jackpot prizes as and when necessary to maintain the consistent running of the platform and supporting Grassroots.
2.6.3 Sponsorship contributions, promotional funds, or other approved sources may be added to the weekly jackpot at the discretion of The Grassroots Initiative Ltd, potentially increasing the prize fund above the calculated amount.
2.6.4 Donations to grassroots causes will be targeted at 20% of company profit after all jackpot payments, associated payment processing fees, and company operating costs have been deducted. This target is aspirational and may vary depending on operational circumstances.
2.6.5 The Grassroots Initiative Ltd reserves the right to amend the jackpot calculation method in the future. Any change will be reflected in these Terms and will apply prospectively from the date of update.
3.0 Subscription Terms & Conditions
3.0.1 Subscription plans are offered by The Grassroots Initiative Ltd and processed securely through Stripe Payments UK Ltd. By subscribing, you authorise us and Stripe to process recurring payments in accordance with your selected plan.
3.1 Payment, Renewal & Cancellation
3.1.1 Subscriptions automatically renew monthly unless cancelled prior to the renewal date.
3.1.2 Subscription fees are payable in advance and are non-refundable except where required by law.
3.1.3 By subscribing, you agree to Stripe’s Privacy Policy and consent to Stripe storing and processing your payment information securely.
3.1.4 Cancellation by Email: You may cancel your subscription at any time by emailing support@footy9.com from the email address linked to your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you will retain access until that date.
3.1.5 Upon cancellation, a confirmation email will be sent. You are responsible for ensuring your contact details are accurate and up to date.
3.2 Subscriber Benefits
3.2.1 Subscribers gain access to premium features, including live progress tracking for the 92 Club, Away Kit Collector, and Clean Sheet Tracker challenges, along with other premium tools and statistics.
3.3 Non-Subscriber Eligibility
3.3.1 Non-subscribers remain fully eligible to win end-of-season prizes for the 92 Club, Away Kit Collector, and Clean Sheet Tracker challenges but will not have access to platform-based tracking or progress monitoring for these challenges.
3.4 Changes to Subscription
3.4.1 We may change subscription fees, features, or terms with reasonable prior notice. Continued subscription after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
3.5 Governing Law
3.5.1 These Subscription Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
4.0 Sponsor Terms & Conditions
4.0.1 These Terms govern any sponsorship or advertising arrangement with The Grassroots Initiative Ltd.
4.1 Content & Rights
4.1.1 Sponsors warrant they own or have lawful rights to all provided content (logos, text, images) and that such materials do not infringe third-party rights.
4.2 Fees & Placement
4.2.1 Sponsorship fees are payable in advance and are non-refundable once a campaign begins.
4.2.2 Placement and visibility of sponsor materials are determined at our discretion.
4.3 Compliance & Indemnity
4.3.1 Sponsors must comply with applicable advertising standards and consumer laws.
4.3.2 Sponsors agree to indemnify The Grassroots Initiative Ltd against any claims or liabilities arising from their content or breach of these Terms.
4.4 Refusal or Removal
4.4.1 We may reject or remove sponsor content that is unlawful, misleading, offensive, or damaging to our brand.
4.5 Governing Law
4.5.1 These Sponsor Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
5.0 Nomination Terms & Conditions
5.0.1 These Terms govern the nomination of grassroots clubs for support or donations through The Grassroots Initiative Ltd.
5.1 Accuracy & Verification
5.1.1 You confirm that all information provided is accurate and complete. We may verify nomination details and contact you or the nominated club for additional information.
5.2 Use of Club Information
5.2.1 If a nominated club is selected, you grant us permission to publicly display the club’s name, badge, and related information on our website and social media channels.
5.3 Right to Reject
5.3.1 We reserve the right to decline or remove any nomination at our discretion, including where it does not align with our grassroots objectives.
5.4 Governing Law
5.4.1 These Nomination Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
6.0 Privacy Policy
6.1 We collect personal information you provide when registering, making payments, or interacting with our site. This may include your name, email address, payment details, and gameplay activity.
6.2 Your data is used to operate the game, process payments, manage accounts, prevent fraud, and improve services. We do not sell your personal data.
6.3 Data is processed and stored securely in compliance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Where third-party processors (e.g., Stripe) are used, they process data per their own policies and contractual safeguards.

8.3 We may provide a self-serve subscription management portal in the future; email cancellation will remain available as a fallback.
